Early life

Aaron Walburn was born on December 11, 1832 to Adam Walburn and Elizabeth (Yetter) Walburn. Aaron had a twin brother, Moses. Later life

On January 23, 1909, Aaron and Elizabeth Walburn arrived for a visit in Wray, Yuma County, Colorado, where three of their children (Ella, John, and Bertha) lived. Shortly after their arrival, Aaron became ill. Obituary

Aaron Walburn was born in Leavenworth [Lebanon] county, Pennsylvania, December 11, 1832; died at Wray, Colorado, February 18, 1909, aged 76 years, 2 months and 7 days.

He moved with his parents to Osborn, Ohio, when a boy and resided near Quincy, Ohio, until he came to Wray, Colorado, January 23, 1909, to visit his daughters, Mrs. Wm. Pyle and Mrs. Arch Miller. He had been in failing health for about four years. For a week previous to his death he was sick with a cold and congested lungs but able to be up part of the time. Death came suddenly.

He joined the Methodist Episcopal church in 1880, and was a faithful christian until the time of his death.

He was married to Elizabeth A. Davis March 22, 1863. To this union was born ten children. His wife and six children survive him–George Walburn, Greenville, Ohio, Mrs. Wm. Pyle, Mrs. Arch Miller and John Walburn of Wray, Colorado; A. L. Walburn, Piqua, Ohio and E. P. Walburn of Urbana, Ohio.

A brief service was held at the home of Arch Miller. His remains will be taken to Quincy, Ohio, for interment, where a funeral will be held.

Aaron Walburn died at 9 a. m. Thursday [at] the residence of his daughter, Mrs. William Pyle, after an illness of about a week from pneumonia. His age was 75 years, 2 months and 7 days. [Note: this should read 76 years]

He is survived by his wife and daughter, Mrs. Pyle. Mr. and Mrs. Walburn arrived in Wray a few weeks ago to visit their daughter for some time, and it is a sad end to what has been a very pleasant reunion.

The body of the deceased was taken to Quincy, Ohio, Thursday evening for burial accompanied by the bereaved wife and daughter.
